From Tuesday, 16th March 2021, Apple users in the United States can now use Siri to search Apple Maps for COVID-19 vaccine centers.
First, activate Siri on your device using one of these methods.
- Press and hold the Side/Home button until Siri appears.
- By saying “Hey Siri”.
Hey Siri, where can I get a COVID jab?
Hey Siri, where can I get a COVID vaccination?
Currently, more than 20,000 COVID-19 vaccination sites are listed on Apple Maps, and additional sites will be added in the future.
Apple Maps search results include the opening hours, addresses, and phone numbers of the vaccination site locations, with links to provider websites where appointments can be booked. You can also learn more about the three approved vaccines in the US and find out if you’re eligible to receive one.
Vaccine locations are supplied by VaccineFinder, a free online service created by Boston Children’s Hospital that provides the latest vaccine availability for eligible recipients at providers and pharmacies throughout the United States.
In Apple Maps, you can also click on “COVID-19 Vaccines” as a suggested search to find potential appointments nearby.
Healthcare providers, labs, and other businesses not included in VaccineFinder can submit information on COVID-19 testing or vaccination sites directly to the Apple Business Register page for approval and publication.
According to Apple, Apple Maps now displays COVID-19 modules on the ‘business placecards’ for more than 4,400 locations, allowing retailers to communicate COVID-19-related information to their customers, like special shopping hours.
Besides helping users find nearby testing sites and vaccination locations, Siri Knowledge can quickly identify outdoor dining options or provide a list of nearby restaurants offering takeout.
Support in other countries
Apple Maps also provides information on COVID-19 testing sites in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand.
