How to Ask Siri for Sports Scores

Learn how to use Siri Sport to get sports scores, team statistics, player information, and details about upcoming matches or events.

How to Ask Siri for Sports Scores

Siri covers various sports, including baseball, football, tennis, Formula 1, golf, hockey, soccer, and cricket. The results it provides vary depending on your location and which sport you’re interested in.

It has to be said that sports has been one of Siri’s most neglected features. The ability to check sports scores was launched with much fanfare, but since then, little new functionality has been added, and some has even been removed. An increasing number of queries are now answered with a list of web results.

Early in 2024, Apple released the new Apple Sports app. Version one of the app is limited and doesn’t appear to offer much in the way of Siri integration yet. Still, it could indicate that Apple may be heading in a new direction and intends to add further features to the app at a later date—possibly when the much-rumored Siri 2.0 makes an appearance.

Until that happens, you can still ask Siri a few sport-themed questions, which we cover in this guide.

How to ask Siri for the latest sports scores

To begin, activate Siri on your device by saying “Siri” or “Hey Siri”, or press and hold the Home or Side button on an iPhone.

When Siri is ready, it's easy to find the results of matches that have already happened or are in progress.

If team names conflict or teams compete in different leagues in the same sport, Siri will ask you to choose an option.

Depending on how much of the sports season has passed, Siri may not show you complete statistics. For that, you may still need a third-party app.
