How to use Siri Suggestions on your iPhone and iPad

Siri Suggestions is a powerful search feature that makes suggestions about what you might want to do next. Its results are based on your device usage, including how often you may use apps, and at what time of day.

It might suggest that you send a message to a friend or confirm an appointment in your calendar if its due.

Siri can search through both built and third-party apps.

As Siri learns from your behavior, it might start to make suggestions when you:

  • Create calendar events.
  • Search in Safari.
  • Type.
  • Look at the lock screen.
  • Read news stories.

How to use Siri Suggestions

By default, Siri will display a grid of apps it thinks you might need at that moment and a shortlist of shortcuts to oft-performed tasks. These could be anything, from viewing a webpage, to sending a text message.

You are also able to use the search field to find something else.

  • Tap the text field at the top of the screen to call up your keyboard, or the small microphone icon to say your request.
  • Type or speak your search query.

Siri will search the internet, Siri knowledge, iCloud, and on your device for files, music, news, and even make suggestions for apps in the app store.
